Travel Registration

Registration opens Monday, April 3rd and closes Thursday, April 27.

Follow these steps to register your child.

  1. Register with USA Hockey
  2. Register with CCYHA and submit commitment fee.
  3. Print Registration Forms
  4. Sign and submit registration forms to within 24 hours of registration.  If you did not register with CCYHA last year, you must also submit a copy of the player’s birth certificate within 24 hours of registration.

If you have questions about registration, contact CCYHA Registrar Dean Kobs at .

Travel Teams

CCYHA is dedicated to the teaching and advancement of youth hockey and is committed to the long-term development of its players. This year, CCYHA travel hockey plans to provide competitive opportunities to its players through several travel teams at the 10U, 12U and 14U levels. Below is our current plan; however, the final number of teams depends on the number of qualified players trying out.

Players may be offered roster spots on the CCYHA "AA" team for their birth year after the first tryout.  They can accept this offer at the time of offer, but are not required to do so until 24 hours after the last tryout for their birth year.  "A" team offers will begin after all spots have been filled on the "AA" roster.

The final number of teams is dependant upon the number of qualified players trying out, but our plans are to form the following teams:

10U/Squirt 12U/PeeWee 14U/Bantam
2007 10U Major AA 2005 12U Major AA 2003 14U Major AA
2008 10U Minor AA 2005 12U Major A 2003 14U Major A
2007-2008 10U A 2006 12U Minor AA 2004 14U Minor AA
  2006 12U Minor A 2004 14U Minor A

2017-2018 Travel Program Changes

This season, are two changes designed to provide the best opportunity for all players to be fairly and effectively evaluated, provide a stress-free environment for the players, and honor our commitment to our CCYHA members. These changes are based on feedback from Board members, coaches and parents.

  • Tryout Commitment Fee: Every year, there are a number of players from other leagues who tryout for CCYHA travel hockey, often without plans to accept a position with our program if offered. This increases the number of players to evaluate. Similar to past years, there will be a tryout fee of $100 for all players who sign up to tryout for CCYHA travel hockey. New this year, we are implementing the prepayment of a $300 commitment fee, which also will be due during the tryout sign-up process.

The $300 commitment fee will go toward a player’s travel fees for all players who are offered and accept a spot on a CCYHA travel team. If a player is offered a spot on a CCYHA team and accepts the same or lower-level offer at another organization (eg: AA offer at CCYHA and AA offer at other organization, or AA offer at CCYHA and A offer at other organization), they will lose the commitment fee. If they get a higher-level offer at another organization (eg: AA offer at other organization and A offer at CCYHA), we will refund the commitment fee. We also will refund the commitment fee to players who tryout for CCYHA and are not offered a spot.

This change places the focus on the CCYHA players who are committed to our program and allows our evaluators and coaches to focus on players who are interested in playing travel hockey with CCYHA.

  • Parent Viewing: Tryouts can be a stressful time for players. Our goal is to make the process as stress-free and enjoyable as possible for the kids so they have a positive experience. For this reason, parents will not be allowed to watch tryouts from inside the rink. This allows players to focus on the tryouts and eliminates added stress and outside distractions. Parents are welcome to remain in the lobby of the building if they choose. The Ohio AAA Blue Jackets have used this approach for many years with very positive feedback from parents and players.

Any questions should be directed to the .

20 Year Anniversary Fundraising Campaign

CCYHA has been helping boys and girls learn the great game of hockey for 20 years.

Now you can help, too!

Many of our lives have been shaped by sports. The skills we developed as young athletes have impacted our success - on the ice, in the classroom,

in our friendships, and in the boardroom. Sports foster camaraderie, confidence and opportunity.

We know sports can change lives, and – as we celebrate 20 years as an organization this year – we are asking for your support.

CCYHA currently rosters more than 700 players in our house and travel programs. CCYHA house fees cover only a portion of the house program expenses.

Through your generosity, we can help ensure boys and girls have the opportunity to learn and play hockey with CCYHA for another 20 years.

Your monetary donation (in any amount) will directly benefit the house program, in terms of providing additional training to our house coaches,

and helping us provide the skills, knowledge and equipment that will help our players continue to develop and grow their love of hockey!

To donate, click here.

Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Columbus Chill Youth Hockey Association (CCYHA)

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Your kids are on a team, team practices are starting, games will be on weekends and it's snowing outside (well not yet but soon)!!!  You don't want to miss a single moment.  Here are a few tips that make sure you don't miss a moment of CCYHA Hockey!!!

How do I update my player's contact information so that my husband/wife also gets the schedule reminders, emails from coaches, and emails from the League?

Go to the CCYHA home page and click on "Edit My Account" (last item on left hand menu).  Enter your email address and password (the one you used to register your child).  Select the individual you need to edit.  Edit the profile as needed.  Select if you want email reminder for games and practices.

If you need to add more one than email address, separate each email address with a semi-colon (;).

You can also watch a video on how to do this by clicking here.

My spouse is not a CCYHA member and thus cannot log into our account?

Go to the CCYHA home page and click on "Register Online" (on left hand menu).  Select any open program (it doesn't matter which one).  Hit "Continue".  Hit "Create Account." Enter your email address.  You will receive an email to establish a password for that email.  Once you have created a password, log back in with your email and new password.  Complete the member information.

Upon completion, please email the webmaster at ccyharossman@gmail.com.  The profile will need to be linked to the player(s).  Please let the webmaster know which player(s) to link to the parent.

I would like to download/create a subscription to my kid's schedule to my Google/ical calendar?

There are a couple methods but here are a couple.

(1) If on an Apple device, go to www.ccyha.org.  If in the mobile version go to TEAMS -> SELECT a Team -> SCHEDULE (from the Teams Menu).  You will see the schedule for the team.  In the upper right, hit the triangle next to OPTION and select Calendar Feed.  Then select type of service/calendar program and follow directions.

(2) If you have to follow an ADM group for practice and your team (i.e. 6U, 8U, 10U, and 12U) Go to ALL Team Pages on the top menu of the CCYHA website.

  • Select Multi-Schedule.

  • Select LIST for the Schedule type you wish to generate.

  • Check the team(s) you wish to generate a calendar for (if your player is a is participating in an ADM group - e.g. Mite, you will need to select BOTH your team and your ADM group - this should be everyone except Bantam).

  • Click on Submit at the bottom of the screen.  You will see the calendar.

  • On the right, hit the triangle next to OPTION and select Calendar Feed.  Then select type of service/calendar program and follow directions.

If you create an ical feed/subscription (for your ipad, iphone, etc), the calendar should automatically update as changes are made to the CCYHA calendar based upon how your device fetches data.

You can also watch a video on how to do this by clicking here.
