Options at CCYHA for High School/Midget Aged Players

The Columbus Chill Hockey Club (CCHC) is CCYHA’s program for high school agedplayers.  CCHC allows players who want to compete at a high level while still being eligible to participate in their high school hockey season (a.k.a. Pre/Post or Split season hockey).

Players participate in high paced, fun practices with an emphasis on skill development and competition.  The program is run by Dave Caruso, who is currently USA Hockey’s Goaltending Development Coordinator.  He was a goalie coach for the New Jersey Devils organization before moving back to Columbus and was a goalie for the Ohio State University.

Current programs include:

  • Spring Development Program: Players practice and play in small area games battling for points in placement in the I270 Cup Tournament at the end of the session.
  • Fall Split season before high school hockey begins.  Players have off-ice conditioning and on-ice practice sessions in addition to 2-3 tournaments in preparation for tryouts.

Registration and administration of these program are through CCYHA.  More information on CCHC can be found HERE.
