CCYHA RaiseRight Fundraising

The way the program works is you pay face value for the gift card(s) you are purchasing, and the retailer (there are over 750 of them!) offers the card at a 'discount' or ‘bonus.’ The difference between the face value and the discounted price is a rebate that is credited to your CCYHA account to help pay your child's hockey fees!  

For example, you are dining at Olive Garden and your bill arrives. It is $80. You access the RaiseRight app on your phone and purchase an electronic gift card for $80. The electronic gift card arrives in the wallet of your RaiseRight app and you are able to pay your bill at the restaurant. The current rebate for Olive Garden is 7.74%. RaiseRight will then send CCYHA $6.19 to put in your account toward your hockey fees!  

There is no need to carry physical gift cards with you.  Electronic gift cards are managed through the wallet in the RaiseRight app or can be accessed by logging into your account through the RaiseRight website. Many of the electronic gift cards automatically track their balances and can be archived when the balance on the card has been exhausted. Electronic gift cards purchased through RaiseRight can be used when shopping in store or online, just be sure to check each retailer's policy for any restrictions or limitations. Electronic gift cards purchased through RaiseRight can also be emailed as gifts to family and friends!

CCYHA has started this program last season to test it out and one family earned over $1,160 and another has earned over $600 just by purchasing gift cards to pay for items they were already going to purchase!  This is a great program for travel hockey families to use while dining out while on the road, paying for gas or airline tickets and even for some hotel stays, all while helping to pay for the season’s fees!

Start by downloading the RaiseRight app on your phone or go to RaiseRight.com on your computer. Use the appropriate enrollment code below.

• RR orders will be limited to electronic gift cards and Ship to Home options. If desired, a bulk order for physical gift cards may be placed near the holidays or at other designated times.  A $10.50 shipping and handling fee applies to expedited, bulk shipping and will be pro-rated and deducted from family earnings for all families placing an order based on the amount ordered to the total amount of the bulk order.

Reloadable options can be utilized if they are used in conjunction with physical gift cards that have been ordered through the Ship to Home option.

• Rebates are earned and credited to current CCYHA player’s accounts following the schedule below.  

• RR users are financially responsible for the orders placed through RR.  All charges are applied the day an order is placed.  Ensure adequate funds are available to cover the cost of your order.  RR accounts with transactions resulting in overdrawn balances and insufficient funds charges will be suspended and the amount due as well as any associated bank charges will be payable immediately.
• A 2.6% fee is added to orders paid for with a credit card (based on total value of order).  Visa, Mastercard and Discover cards are accepted.
• A $0.29 flat fee is added to each order total when a bank account is used for payment, however there is no limit to the amount of electronic gift cards that may be purchased in a SINGLE transaction with a bank account.  Only one $0.29 fee will be applied to each order.
• There is a fee for Ship to Home gift cards and it will vary based on the number of gift cards ordered and the shipping method selected.  For gift cards shipped via USPS, the fee is $.50 postage per order and $.50 per card for a total of $1.00 - $8.50 per order.  For UPS, the fee is $11.00 or $16.00 based on the method selected plus a $.50 handling fee per card for a total of $11.50 - $24 per order.  
• For Ship to Home orders there is a limit of 16 cards per order, but multiple orders can be placed.
•  Orders for eGift cards, physical gift cards, money added to reloadable gift cards, and Ship to Home gift cards are final and non-returnable.
• Please read the information on eGift card redemption as some eGift cards are available to use via your RR App’s wallet or can be transferred to the brand’s own app (e.g. Starbucks, Amazon, etc).
• eGift cards sent as gifts via email can be ordered through the RaiseRight website or through the RaiseRight app.  There is no additional fee to send an eGift card as a gift via email (standard fees apply). 
• Participating organizations located in Ohio have different rebates than are available in other states due to the Ohio Commercial Activity Tax. This is a 0.26% tax of gross receipts (total sales), and it applies to all business transactions in the state of Ohio, including gift card purchases made through RaiseRight.  Rebates in the RR app and on the RR website reflect the earnings percentage adjusted for this tax for our organization.

Below are a few tips and tricks to help increase your earnings and decrease the out of pocket expenses associated with our favorite sport…hockey!!

• Using RaiseRight (RR) involves a paradigm shift.  Look for opportunities to pay with gift cards purchased through RR when you would normally pay for the goods or services with cash, check, debit or credit cards.
• Use the program consistently.  When dining at your favorite restaurant or shopping your favorite retailers in store or online, check RaiseRight.com or the RaiseRight app to see if that retailer participates in the program.  If they do, order egift cards through RaiseRight and have them delivered to your wallet nearly instantaneously.  Use the gift cards to pay for your meal or in store or online purchases!
• Shop online through cash apps such as Rakuten and check out with your RR e-gift card and stack the earnings!
• When your favorite retailers are offering a bonus percentage, stock up on gift cards during the bonus period to maximize your earnings.  Raise Days, offered four times a year, is an exceptional time to purchase gift cards, as many retailers offer very attractive bonuses, some as high as 20%!
•  ‘Save’ for those big ticket items such as computers and appliances when retailers are offering bonuses.  Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowe’s all offer a 3.74% rebate, but when they are offering a bonus, your earnings will be even greater.
• Starbucks egift cards purchased through RR can be loaded into your Starbucks app so you can earn your stars for free food and beverages while earning money for hockey!  Stock up while they are on a bonus and earn even more.  
• For those who love to shop the Gap family of stores (Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic, Athleta and Gap Factory), they also offer a very generous rebate before the school year starts. So look for those and related back to school savings.
• Want to purchase a physical gift card but there is no Ship to Home option?  If the gift card you’re after is sold at Giant Eagle, use RR to purchase a Giant Eagle egift card and then use it to purchase the physical gift card of your choice…all while earning your RR rebate as well as your GetGo fuel perks!
• Think of RR when dining out.  Many restaurants participate in the RR program and many offer very attractive rebates.  Panera, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, Bucca di Beppo, the Darden family of restaurants (Olive Garden, Longhorn Steakhouse, Bahama Breeze, Seasons 52 & Yard House), Cheddar’s, Bonefish Grill, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Chili’s, Chuck E. Cheese’s, Applebees, Texas Roadhouse, Red Robin, Pizza Hut, Cracker Barrel, IHOP, Bob Evans, The Cheesecake Factory, Dave & Buster’s, Logan’s Roadhouse, O’Charley’s, On the Border, Joe’s Crab Shack, P.F. Chang’s, and TGI Fridays just to name a few!
• Have a lengthy commute or travel a lot to get from rink to rink for practice and games?  Consider using RR to purchase GetGo or Giant Eagle gift cards at a 3.74% rebate to purchase fuel for your trip!  If you spend $200 a month on gas, you would earn almost $90 a year in rebates!  That’s a chunk out of those hockey fees! 😊 Other gas and auto parts retailers also participate in RR including Sheetz, Speedway, BP and Autozone.
• Traveling or going on vacation?  Think RR when paying for hotels, cruises or airline tickets!  Several of these retailers participate in the RR program!
• Think outside the box when it comes to retailers participating in RR.  Groupon, eBay, QVC, Wayfair, Overstock.com, Hotels.com, Amazon, Topgolf, Build-A-Bear Workshop and Airbnb all participate!
• In the market for some new sporting or fan gear? Dick’s Sporting Goods and Fanatics are participating retailers as well as Adidas, Nike and Under Armour!
• Send egift cards to family and friends!  Egift cards sent as gifts via email can be ordered through the RaiseRight website and also through the RaiseRight app.  There is no additional fee to send an eGift card as a gift via email other than the standard processing fee.
• Keep an eye on your email inbox for weekly bonuses and special bonuses that are periodically offered.  It may be National Pizza Day and a pizza retailer will have an attractive bonus for that day only.
• Don’t forget to take RR to the movies!  Many movie theaters participate in RR with attractive rebates including AMC Theatres, Marcus Theatres, Regal Entertainment Group and Cinemark!
• Need to grab a quick bite on the way to the rink or in between games?  Many fast food restaurant chains participate in RR…Panera, Subway, Chipotle, Panda Express, Burger King, Auntie Ann’s, Steak ‘n Shake, Shake Shack, Fazoli’s and Cold Stone Creamery just to name a few!  Remember RR egift cards can be used in retailer apps for ordering ahead convenience!
•  For those fast food places that don’t offer egift cards, but offer a reloadable card and ship to home option such as Taco Bell, Arby’s and Sonic, purchase the reloadable gift card (must be purchased through the RaiseRight app only), ship it to your house and keep it in the car for those quick stops, then reload the card through the RaiseRight app!
• Have children in college or just love to read? Many college and university bookstores are operated by Barnes and Noble.  Purchase Barnes and Noble e gift cards to pay for books, supplies and school spirit wear or send an e-gift card to your favorite college student!
•  Recruit others such as grandparents and aunts and uncles to use RR for their everyday purchases and earn even more toward your player’s hockey fees!  Just be sure to have them enter your player’s name when setting up their RR account.
• Remember, some rebate amounts may seem small, but they really do add up over time!  When was the last time you earned 4% on your savings account at the bank?  How about 8%?  12%?  Or what about 20%??!!

• You can fundraise for your own family!  You directly benefit from your fundraising efforts!
• You don’t have to sell anything to others!
• You can fundraise all year long! (up to your fees for the season and as long as your are a member in the earning period)
• Who doesn’t love free money? 😊
